Body Control Pilates
In 1996 the Body Control Pilates Association was set up. Its main goal: bringing the benefits of Pilates to all. The founding members of Body Control Pilates are Lynne Robinson and Gordon Thomson. The reason why Body Control Pilates enjoys an excellent reputation is due to:
Progressive approach
You are taught good movement skills step by step. The programme contains many exercises unique to Body Control Pilates.
Quality of Teaching
Training courses focus not only on teaching the range of exercises to our teachers, but also on how to teach them well. Body Control Pilates teachers are renowned for their attention to detail and their ability to cater for the needs of the individual.
Client Assessment
Before joining a class, your Body Control Pilates Association teacher will ask you to complete an enrolment form giving details of any injuries or condition. Where appropriate and with your permission, they will liaise with your practitioner
Class Size
All Body Control Pilates Association teachers work to a maximum class size of twelve, ensuring close supervision and support from your teacher.
Code of Practice
Body Control Pilates Association teachers work to a Code of Practice that governs teaching standards and professional ethics, and ensures continuation of profession development. All Body Control Pilates Association teachers must hold up-to-date insurance.
Access to Latest research
The Body Control Pilates Group has access to the latest research findings in areas such as core stability, muscle balance and the pelvic floor, and ensures that these are reflected in our teaching programmes
I’ve been having Pilates lessons with Melanie for less than a year, and have been pleasantly surprised to benefit so much already from doing Pilates. The emphasis on correct alignment of the body helped me to walk with my legs and feet correctly and cured within weeks a knee problem I’d had for over a year!
Even though I find some of the exercises challenging, I’ve noticed that waists of my skirts and trousers are looser now and that my core muscles are getting stronger!
